Yu Gong Yi Shan is a rebuilding project. It’s original function served as a personal club and lounge, art deco style. At present the location serves as a venue for local musicians to perform which presents an enormous conflict between two very different cultures. Subsequently, from this conflict the idea of design flowed out quite naturally. Not doing addition to the space but quite the opposite, subtraction.
