It is said that an eminent writer Sudongpo once came to Hangzhou and took the job of procurator twice, dredging up and embanking. He told his family to cook pork along his lines and reward the laborers with it. The laborers ate the delicious pork, naming it "Dongpo pork". Then the restaurants in Hangzhou copied this way one after another and until now there have been more than 900 years. When cooking, you should choose superior streaky pork, adding some rock candy, Shaoxing rice wine, soy sauce and put it into an earthen pot.
