Location: only 60 km to Hangzhou to the west, 128 km to Ningbo to the east, 249 km to Shanghai to the north.

Highway: The Shaoxing-Hangzhou-Ningbo Expressway is terminated in the SPIZ (Shaoxing Paojiang Industrial Zone), also with NO.329 & 104 national highways, Shaoxing Central Avenue passing by.

Railway: The Shaoxing-Hangzhou-Ningbo Railway and Zhejiang-Jiangxi Railway within the territory of Shaoxing connects to the national main railways as Beijing-Guangzhou Railway, Beijing-Hongkong Railway and Longhai Railway.

Channel: The Grand Beijing-Hangzhou-Ningbo Canal with a 500-1000 tons capacity from year 2007 runs across Shaoxing.

Port: Shaoxing Port is 20 km away from the downtown with a berth of 3000 tons vessel and an annual cargo-handling capacity of 2.45 million tons. In 2007, it will have a berth of 5000 tons vessel and an annual cargo-handling capacity of 10 million tons.
