Dali, one of the most popular tourist spots in China, is located in northwest of the Yunnan Province, 300 kilo-meters northwest of Kunming. Dali lies between the Cangshan Mountainand the alpine lake-Erhai Lake which are are praised as Dali leading scenic areas. As a result,Dali is one of the most beautiful tourist destinations and a good place to relax in China.

Dali belongs to the typical highland monsoon climate due to the low latitude, so the summers is not so hot and the winter is not so cold. The climate is gentle and comfortable. The best time to pay a visit to Dali is from March to June when the Spring is in full bloom with fresh air and comfortable sunshine.

There are scenic areas in the whole Dali area--Dali City, Bingchuan County, Jianchuan County and Weishan County. In Dali City, the top attractions that must to be missed are he Cangshan Mountains and Erhai Lake,Butterfly Spring. In Bingchuan County, the top tourist spot is Jizu Mountain. In Jianchuan County, Shibao Mountain tops other scenic spots and in in Weishan County, there is Weibao Mountain. As you can see, the Dali area is surrounded by mountains on the east, west, and south, and has the Erhai Lake in its center. In addition to these top attractions, a festive that spreads throughout the streets can not be missed. That is called Sanyue Jie in Chinese, which is also known as the Guanyin Festival. It begins in April and lasts a week. This is a good opportunity for travellers to learn the culture of Dali local people.
