Dragon Well, the joint of southern ridges and northern ridges of West Lake in Hangzhou, is on Phoenix Hill with rich forests and expansive areas to store rainfall. Therefore, the spring water will still gush out even in draught. The ancient people thought dragons were dwelling here. People of the East Wu during Three Kingdoms Period once came here to pray for rainfall. Hence it was named “Dragon Well”. In 1985, the scene was listed as one of the“New Top Ten”Scenic Spots of West Lake. From then on, both tea produced here and the scenery have become more well-known and valuable. Around Clear and Bright and Grain Rain each year, tea farmers are busy plucking and parching tea whose fragrance travels downhill. It is the most refreshing travel item in spring for people to come here to try new tea and inquiry about its history and anecdote. |
