Jennie, our tour guide was very nice and took great care in providing excellent service for us. Our driver was excellent; he kept the van clean and made our drive throughout the city very comfortable. He drove carefully and we felt very safe in his care. Both were very prompt and professional.
We received two bottles of water each and everyday. The restaurants we visited varied. The restaurant for the Peking Duck was excellent. The place was very clean and the food very delicious.

I just want to tell you how impressed all three of us were with the reliability, efficiency, and quality of the services of your agency during our trip to the Silk Road. We were met by guides and drivers and supplied with plane and train tickets exactly as planned, which meant that the
trip was entirely free of worry. Our guides were all remarkably competent, knowledgeable, eager to please, and great company. Flora (with whom we spent the most time) in particular deserves special mention for her exceptional sensitivity to our needs and her enthusiasm in presenting the wonders of the Xinjiang in a way that was extremely catching and endearing. The drivers were also friendly and professional. The hotels were well chosen and lunch meals for which you arranged were copious and delicious. We also liked being able to choose where to have our dinners, and the guides were quite willing to help us make the right choices and assist us in menu selections. All in all, this was a great and fascinating trip and we are grateful to you and your staffs for helping us customize it and make it a resounding success.
What we will remember from our trip is the friendly and efficient service, the wonderful sites, and the extraordinarily beautiful scenery... Thank you for a very good time. It was good meeting you in Xian. I could probably think real hard and come up with some minor complaint, but it would be very minor and probably unavoidable anyway. I think you really have a good orgainization. We had a very good time on our tour and please send our best regards to Lisa, Jerry, and Joe. They were especially nice.

For all you considering booking a tour with TOC let me assure you that they are as good as can be expected. I had always wanted to see China but was not sure how to go about it. Previously I had done all my travel planning on my own. I have always been leery of package tours because of the high probability of having problems with at least one person in a large group situation. TOC promise of smaller groups, great lodging and non-tourist restaurants sold me. They lived up to those promises plus their guides and entertainment shows were all top notch. I can highly recommend the Beijing, Xi'an, Yangtze Rive cruise, and Shanghai 12 day tour.

We were most pleased and satisfied with our recent tour with TOC. We would not hesitate to recommend your company for anyone traveling to China. The hotels were of the highest quality; the food was, by and large, excellent; the guides were knowledgeable, informative, and helpful and we were delighted to be able to design a flexible program to suit our tastes. We expect to use TOC again on our future trips to China.
We would be happy to have this description included in your web site.
In particular we would like to point out some details of concern:
Guides: Maggie and Chris were exceptional guides, knowledgeable, informative, and helpful with an excellent command of English. They were attentive to the group's wishes and made meaningful changes to the program as needed. We came away from their portion of the tour really understanding China, it's heritage and what it is like to live there.
FOOD: Hotel breakfasts were consistently very good. The restaurant food for lunch and dinner in Xi'an and Guilin was excellent, mainly because we were permitted to select from the menus with the guides' help. This should be your standard method in future tours not set meals with a standard menu. In Shanghai, the food was of comparatively low quality. We were always served tourist menus consisting of tasteless dishes. We were even told that they knew what westerners liked.
MISCELLANEOUS: The drivers were very good, the vans were comfortable, and water was always available. We did not enjoy the evening opera in Beijing as we thought it was too western, similar to the glamour presentations at Las Vegas - too "touristy" and of little relationship to real China culture. We think that if you arranged for evening lectures from specialists in such fields as archeology, history, architecture, art, food, agriculture, etc. (instead of tourist shows) it would add significant depth to our China experience.

I just wanted to take a moment to thank all of you at TOC for the wonderful experience you provided us during our seven day tour of Beijing and Xian. Our personal guide Flora in Beijing was simply the best. Her charm and knowledge of the cities sites are amazing, her humor mixed with a very entertaining and informative personality made us feel very much at home. She is a wonderful asset to your company and we were lucky to have had her guide us.
Then we went to Xian and met Tom much the same should be said about him, He was able to keep us entertained as well having a very good understanding of the surrounding. He was able to answer all of questions at the Terra Cotta Warriors. I think we must of drove him crazy but he never lost patience with us. He also has very good use of the English language.
Shanghai portion of the itinerary also exceeded our expection. With the accompany of Jennie, our local escort, we fully enjoyed our time there.
The entire TOC experience was really a great one and we would feel secure in recommending your company to anyone interested on visiting your fascinating country.

Dear Elaine,
All the guides were great. For example, Laura was very sympathetic and sweet, and Sam was extremely helpful. It was the Great Wall that the most memorable attraction I visited. I really enjoyed the meals, and all the hotels were great. I can not tell which hotel I liked the most... I liked everything very much...
As a suggestion, I think that all travelers, besides going to the attractions, should not miss the opportunity to go to as many shows as possible; all the ones to which I was able to go were great.
