Xitang is an ancient scenic town, Zhejiang Province, China. It is level, densely distributed with rivers, and has a very quiet natural environment. With nine rivers converging at this town, dividing it into eight sections, there are many bridges linking it together.The modern city is like any other, however, in the older section of town, all the buildings face onto the canals, the true transportation system of the area. Yangzhou , a city famous for its history and culture, is located in the central part of Jiangsu with the lower reaches of Yangtze River in south and Jianghuai plain in north. There is the oldest canal in China , mausoleums of Han and Sui emperors, historical sites of ancient city in Tang and Song Dynasty and private gardens in Ming and Qing Dynasty. Located in southern Anhui Province, Mount Huangshan covers an area of 250 kilometers, of which 154 square kilometers are scenic attractions. Its landscape features “four wonders” of imposing peaks, spectacular rocks, odd-shaped pines, and a sea of clouds. Mount Huangshan boasts 72 peaks, more than 1,000 meters above sea level, with three main peaks rising majestically. They are both fascinating and dangerously steep. Cliffs, stone forests, stone pillars, stone blocks and egg-shaped stones form the unique granite geomorphologic scenery.
East China is a geographical and a loosely-defined cultural region that covers the eastern coastal area of China. This tour is a wonderful combination of historical culture and beautiful nature scene of eastern China.

Activities:
  In the morning, visit the Jade Buddha Temple, Yu Garden and Shanghai Old Town. Have a Chinese lunch and then visit the Shanghai Museum. After that, visit the Oriental Pearl Tower and then make a free tour around the Nanjing Road.

Jade Buddha Temple: This is the most important Buddhist temple in Shanghai. It was built between 1911 and 1918. The centrepiece is a 2m-high, white jade, seated Buddha. There is also a reclining Buddha.

Yu Garden is one of the most famous gardens in China and is national heritage listed. It was built in 1559 and extended in 1577. Each section of the garden is separated by curved white walls crowned with the head and body of a dragon on them. It's named after the original owner.

Shanghai Museum used to be near the Bund. It is now situated in People's Square and its new buildings were built in 1996, designed by a Shanghai architect named Xing Tonghe. The new design symbolizes China's ancient understanding of the world: round sky and square earth. The museum has a circular roof and rectangular base. It stores 120,000 precious artifacts, which narrate a story of China's 5,000-year civilization.

Oriental Pearl TV Tower: It was designed by Jia Huan Cheng of the Shanghai Modern Architectural Design Co. Ltd. Construction began in 1991 and the tower was completed in 1995. At 468 m (1,535 feet) high, it is the tallest tower in Asia, and the third tallest tower in the world. The Oriental Pearl Tower belongs to the World Federation of Great Towers.

  Today’s tour begins by visiting the Humble Administrator’s Garden. Then make a tour to the Grand Canal by boat. Have a Chinese lunch and then make a tricycle tour around the Suzhou Old Town to explore the local people’s life. After that, pay a visit the No.1 Silk Factory.
Covering 51,950 sq.m, the Humble Administrator's Garden is the largest of all classical gardens in Suzhou. It is centered upon the broad expanse of a lake, making up about one fifth of the total area. With well-spaced buildings, the garden landscape and water space are simple, extensive and natural, possessing the traditional appearances of the Ming Dynasty. It is divided into three parts; the eastern, middle and the western parts. The house lies in the south of the garden.

Grand Canal: The Grand Canal ranks alongside the Great Wall of China as the country's greatest engineering achievement and it is the longest man-made waterway in world. Cruising the Canal in Suzhou you can see the local life of the people living on the both sides of the canal as well.

  Drive to Wuzhen and make a tour to the Wuzhen Old Town. After that, transfer to Hangzhou by 2-hour drive and check in the 4-star hotel (included in the quotation).

Wuzhen Old Town: On both sides of a slabstone-paved street stand pubs, restaurants, pawnshops, weaving and dyeing establishments, and other businesses, all housed in wooden structures of brown. Rivers and creeks spanned with stone bridges in various designs flow through the town, and the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal passes by. Old waterside houses and outside corridors can be found here and there. This is the ancient town of Wuzhen.


Six Harmonies Pagoda: Located on the Yuelun Hill besides Qiantang River, Six Harmonies Pagoda was built by King of Wuyu to ward off Qiantang bore. As high as 59.89 meters, this grand pagoda has 7 sides and 8 stories. Looked down from the top, all Qiantang River beauty is bird viewed. Now near Six Harmonies Pagoda, a Garden of Chinese Ancient Pagodas with more than 100 pagodas and towers in various dynasties has been constructed to display Chinese pagoda culture integrated.

  Make a cruise on the West Lake and then visit the Lingyin Temple. Have a Chinese lunch and then visit the famous Tea Village of Meijiawu. After that, transfer to Shanghai by train.

West Lake: An old saying: “There is heaven above and Shu-Hang below.” West Lake is the most beautiful and famous place in Hangzhou. Hangzhou’s fame is largely due to the picturesque West Lake. Lying in the west of the city, and surrounded by hills on three sides, the West Lake is 3.2 kilometers from north to south and 2.8 kilometers from east to west with a circumference of 15 kilometers. Its water surface encompasses 5.8 square kilometers, while the islands on the lake occupy 6.3 square kilometers. Its average depth of water is 1.55 meters, the shallowest is less than one meter deep, and the deepest being about 2.8 meters.
Lingyin Temple, west of the famous West Lake in East China's Hangzhou city, stands at the foot of the Beigao Peak and faces the Feilai (Peak That Flew Here) Peak across a stream. With many old trees, groves of bamboo, and quiet and beautiful surroundings, the Lingyin Temple is one of the most famous temples south of the Yangtze River.
Meijiawu Tea Village: To understand the brilliant past and equally bright future of tea in China, there is one place where a visit is a must, Meijiawu Village, Hangzhou that is located in the West Lake District. Here elaborate tea taking ceremonies are held, you will be able to understand why partaking in tea ceremonies is of such importance in Chinese culture.

What time does the Shanghai train station close?
I'm going to Shanghai on May 2 but my flight is on May 3. I'm planning to stay at the train station till the next day. Do they close or not? If they close, is there a nearby 24-hour coffee shop where I can sit and wait?
